Chapter Thirteen: Schism

Hello, and welcome back to the Hadley Legacy. Last time, Gwen and Max were having some marital issues, arguing over whether or not their teenage daughter, Roxanne, should be allowed to have tattoos.
"Teenagers should not be getting tattoos," Gwen declared, "ask anyone." And so Max did.

"Hello Mister, er, whatever your name is. I have a few questions to ask you."
"Hold on a second, my mother's busy dying in the bathroom."

"Oh, indeed she is. Quite sorry. Well then..."

"Should teenagers get tattoos?"
"What kind of question is that? My mother just died!"
"I think they should be allowed to, don't you?"
"Yes, yes, sure, just go away!"

Max returned home victorious.
"Hah! Honey, you see! We should let her get all the tattoos she wants!"
"Max! You can't raise your daughter that was just because some random guy said you could!"

"Ichelle, what are you doing here?"
"Telling you not to fight with Mom so much, Dad."
"Me? She started it!"

"Your sister should be allowed to get tattoos! Isn't that right, Ichelle?"
"Don't put her in the middle of this!"
Ichelle looked between her parents, her good mother and her evil father, and she chose her side.

"I choose Mom."
"What? That is IT! This is over!"

"I'm sick of being hated in my own house! This is over!"
"But Dad-"
"OVER!"

"What's going on in here? Mom, are you yelling at Dad again?"
And that was when I realized that the house was split down the middle, good against evil. Roxanne and Max were evil, Ichelle and Gwen were good. And the boys, well, they didn't really matter, did they?
"Legacy homes are supposed to be full of nice, good sims who skill quietly," Ichelle yelled. "Like me!"
"Legacy homes are supposed to be full of interesting, evil sims who make a good story," Roxanne yelled back. "Like me!"

"Girls," Gwen said, "enough. Go back to your skilling, this isn't about you any more. Your father and I are through."

"It's all your fault, Roxy! For getting those stupid tattoos!"
"Oh please, twerp. They were going to split anyway. Who ever heard of a good sim and an evil sim getting married and living happily ever after?"
"Well I guess that's true."

And so life in the Hadley home returned to somewhat normal. Gwen and Max went back to ignoring each other, and the girls went back to bickering quietly, and the boys continued to be ignored. With the extra money from a promotion, Gweny got a cop car and added this garage to the house, where she could work out happily beside her very own neon green sloppy jalopy.

And then I did something I wasn't expecting to. I had Max go to apologize to Gweny for what he'd done. And she screamed at him. No really, look.

You can practically hear it right now, can't you?
"I HATE YOU!"
I cheered out loud for Gwen when I saw this. You tell him, girl! You don't need that man bossing you around any more!

With the split permanent, I updated the house. Downstairs everything's the same (you'll notice the girls have to share a room) with the addition of the garage to your right.

Upstairs the bedroom has been split, now with two different beds in it so they don't have to sleep next to each other.

And only a day after The Fight, Ichelle found herself facing her teenage birthday, and some big decisions to make.
See her age up next time, on The Hadley Legacy!

  1. Liked the girls' observations on how Legacy Sims should behave. Too funny.
